The dental practices and surgery centers affiliated with Chord Specialty Dental Partners (the “Dental Practices” and “Surgery Centers”) have organized and designated themselves as Affiliated Covered Entity (“ACE”) organizations for the purpose of the HIPAA Privacy Rule. The Dental Practices and Surgery Centers are separate legal covered entities. However, they are under common ownership and thus have organized themselves an ACE based on groups of common ownership and regional location for the purposes of the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
